Our congregation is dedicated to the education and nurturing of our youth. Our goal is to become their home for faith, friends, fellowship, community service and fun — providing a safe place and caring support for them during their teen years.
We’re not just for church members!
All middle school and high school youth are welcome to attend the weekly and numerous special activities designed just for them.
Youth Sunday School is from 9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. in the Youth Room.
Following Sunday School, we reserve seats in the sanctuary for youth who would like to sit together.
Sunday Evening Youth Group takes place from 5:00 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the Youth Room. Dinner is included.
T-shirts: The Youth Group designed their own T-shirts. They are available upon request.
Youth Group Breakfast – The Youth Group meets once a month for breakfast at 8 a.m. at the Starbucks on Military Trail and Indian Creek Parkway for some fellowship and fun before school.
Night of Joy at Disney World: We had an amazing time at Night of Joy in September! We spent the whole day at the Magic Kingdom, riding rides and eating way too much food. Then on Saturday night we danced and sang at the top of our lungs with some of our favorite Christian rock bands. It was an amazing night filled with the love of Christ and music dedicated to Him. We have already begun planning our trip for next year!!
Youth Christmas Party: The group wanted to see “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” at one of the Cinepolis Luxury Theaters. They had so much fun having a waiter serve them their food while they reclined in the comfortable seats and watched this wonderful movie. They loved it so much that they want to have another movie outing soon. More details to come when we figure out which movie we would all like to see.
Youth Group Lock-in – We had a wonderful time at our New Year’s Eve lock-in and it was an amazing way to bring in the new year! We saw the movie “Sing” and went to Chili’s for dinner. When we got back to the church, we had a devotion, played games, danced and sang, ate lots of sweets, and made a lot of noise at midnight.
Youth Group Camp Out – Our Youth Group attended the Youth Group Camp Out hosted by The Presbytery of Tropical Florida Youth Task Force. We joined Youth Groups from four local churches for an evening of devotion, cookouts, games, s’mores and camping out in tents. The next morning, we enjoyed a pancake breakfast, a morning devotional, and completed a service project at the church.
Souper Bowl of Caring – the Youth Group sponsored this event to help fight hunger in our area. They collected over 450 items from church members and preschool families. Thank you everyone!
Gleaning – We went gleaning to support CROS Ministries. We helped collect over 9,000 pounds of tomatoes from a local farm and this produce was donated to help feed the hungry in our community.
Strawberry Cafe – The Youth Group did an amazing job in the Strawberry Cafe this year! Thank you everyone!
Youth Spring Retreat – The Youth Group joined 4 other Youth Groups from our Presbytery at the Lake Placid Christian Camp for a weekend of devotion, games, campfires, s’mores and fun!
Youth Sunday – The Youth Group did an amazing job leading the service on Youth Sunday. They presented a skit entitled, “Bad Habits,” which talked about the things that we as Christians delude ourselves into thinking are not hurting anyone, including ourselves.
Summer fun activities – The Youth Group will be going to breakfast, lunch, bowling and the movies throughout the summer. Contact Shannon for more information.
Monday, June 26th – Friday, June 30th – Vacation Bible School – the youth serve as counselors.
Sunday, July 9th – Friday, July 14th – Summer Mission Trip – the Youth Group will be attending Cedarkirk’s Challenge to Change 2017 summer mission trip.
Friday, September 8th – Sunday, September 10th – Night of Joy – we will be rockin’ out with the best Christian bands of our time!
Come join us for all our activities and invite a Friend!
I am very excited about working with our amazing Youth Group and look forward to all of us growing our relationship with our Lord! Please feel free to contact me about our Youth Program. God is good!
