Our congregation is dedicated to the education and nurturing of our youth. Our goal is to become their home for faith, friends, fellowship, community service and fun — providing a safe place and caring support for them during their teen years.
We’re not just for church members!
All middle school and high school youth are welcome to attend the weekly and numerous special activities designed just for them.
Youth Sunday School is from 9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. in the Youth Room.
Following Sunday School, we reserve seats in the sanctuary for youth who would like to sit together.
Sunday Evening Youth Group takes place from 5:00 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the Youth Room. Dinner is included.
T-shirts: The Youth Group designed their own T-shirts. They are available upon request.
Youth Group Breakfast – The Youth Group meets once a month for breakfast at 8 a.m. at the Starbucks on Military Trail and Indian Creek Parkway for some fellowship and fun before school.
Night of Joy at Disney World: We have an amazing time at Night of Joy in September each year! We spend the whole day at one of the parks, riding rides and eating way too much food. And on Friday or Saturday night, we dance and sing at the top of our lungs with some of our favorite Christian rock bands. It is an amazing night filled with the love of Christ and music dedicated to Him.
Youth Christmas Party: Each year the group picks what they would like to do for their Christmas party. Last year they wanted to see “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” at one of the Cinepolis Luxury Theaters. They had so much fun having a waiter serve them their food while they reclined in the comfortable seats and watched this wonderful movie.
Youth Group Lock-ins – We have two lock-ins each year, one on New Year’s Eve and one at the end of summer right before school starts. We go to dinner and some other event such as the movies, horseback riding, or the pool. We also have a devotion, play games, dance, and sing. This is a great time that the kids really look forward to all year!
Souper Bowl of Caring – the Youth Group sponsors this event each year to help fight hunger in our area. They collect food items from church members and preschool families, then give them to a local food pantry. Thank you to everyone who helps make this event such a success!
Gleaning – We look forward to joining other members of the congregation to glean each year. We support CROS Ministries food banks by picking any left over fruits or vegetables at area farms. This year we helped collect over 9,000 pounds of tomatoes and this produce was donated to help feed the hungry in our community.
Strawberry Cafe – The Youth Group does an amazing job of supporting the annual Strawberry Festival by serving in the Strawberry Cafe.
Youth Spring Retreat – Each year we join other Youth Groups from our Presbytery at the Lake Placid Christian Camp for a weekend of devotion, games, campfires, s’mores and fun!
Youth Sunday – The Youth Group did an amazing job leading the service on Youth Sunday. They presented a skit entitled, “Bad Habits,” which talked about the things that we as Christians delude ourselves into thinking are not hurting anyone, including ourselves.
Summer fun activities – The Youth Group has lots of fun going to breakfast, lunch, bowling and the movies throughout the summer.
Mission Trip – Each year we spend a week on a mission trip to help others. Last year we worked in a soup kitchen in Orlando and this year we attended the Cedarkirk Challenge To Change 2017 Mission Trip on the west coast of Florida and helped at the Beth-El Farmworker Ministry.
Friday, September 8th – Sunday, September 10th – Night of Joy – we will be rockin’ out with the best Christian bands of our time!
Come join us for all our activities and invite a Friend!
I am very excited about working with our amazing Youth Group and look forward to all of us growing our relationship with our Lord! Please feel free to contact me about our Youth Program.
God is good!
