Friday, August 3rd in the afternoon – Saturday, August 4th at noon
Youth Group back-to-school lock-in
The Youth group is having their annual back-to-school lock-in and everyone in middle and high school is invited! They will meet in the afternoon for a fun activity (like ice skating or indoor trampolining). Afterward, they will go to dinner, then “lock-in” at the church for the evening, where they will have a devotion, play games, sing, dance, and watch movies.
They are still deciding where they would like to go in the afternoon, so if you would like to join them and suggest a fun place, please contact Shannon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sunday, August 5th after worship
We received backpacks from the Presbytery and are collecting school supplies to donate to three of the missions we support: The Real Life Children’s Ranch, Edna Runner Tutorial Center, and Family Promise.
Please join us in the Youth Room on Sunday, August 5th after worship if you would like to help fill the backpacks with all of the donated supplies.
If you are interested in donating supplies, they can be dropped off in the front office during the week or in the Narthex on Sundays.
Sunday, August 19th from 5 – 7 p.m.
Catch the Wave of Hope
A Presentation on Abolishing Human Trafficking
Knowledge is power, even if sometimes the things we need to be knowledgeable about are horrible.
To help us gain more knowledge about the growing epidemic of human trafficking and learn how to protect our children, we have set up a presentation with Catch the Wave of Hope. This organization was created by community leaders from Martin and Palm Beach counties and their goal is to “abolish human trafficking in communities locally, nationally, and globally.”
The date of the presentation is Sunday, August 19th at 5 p.m. We will provide dinner after the presentation.
This is for both middle school and high school youth and adults. They make sure to present it in a way that is educational and appropriate for the youth. If your son/daughter is not able to make it, parents are invited to attend alone to learn more.
There is no a cost for this event, but we will have a love offering basket available to help support the organization and for dinner if you would like to donate.
Please RSVP to Shannon at email@example.com so that we know how many people will be joining us for dinner. You may also contact her for any questions.
Friday, September 7th – Sunday, September 9th
Rock the Universe
The Youth group is once again going to Rock the Universe at Universal, Orlando. Friday night and Saturday night we will dance and sing at the top of our lungs with some of our favorite Christian rock bands. We are also spending Saturday during the day at Universal and Islands of Adventure, riding rides and eating way too much food.
This is an amazing weekend filled with the love of Christ and music dedicated to Him and is open to all middle and high school students.
For more information, please contact Shannon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
